January 3-5, 2018 Two-night Creative Trip. Club House

Bring your own materials to paint, sketch, write, compose music or shoot photos on Ossabaw Island.

Depart Wednesday January 3 at  4:00pm from Delegal Creek Marina on Skidaway Island, just outside of Savannah. After a 30-minute boat ride across Ossabaw Sound, arrive on Ossabaw Island in time for late afternoon inspiration found on the North End, followed by supper and an evening program that includes an island overview.  First thing Thursday morning we will travel to the south end bone yard beach, for coastal ecology and beach time.  We will return to the North End for an Ossabaw BBQ dinner.  Enjoy a second evening on the island.  We will depart the island at 11:00 am on Friday, Januaray 5, to return to the mainland.

An Ossabaw Island visit includes opportunities for excellent art-making inspiration: lush maritime forests and marsh wetlands, 19th- and 20th-century historic buildings, and possible sightings of a variety of wildlife including wading birds and feral hogs, as well as free-roaming domesticated donkeys, and perhaps an alligator. Take short hikes on forest and marsh-side trails. There may also be the chance to catch sunset and sunrise at the dock.

Trip fees include round trip transportation from Delegal Marina on Skidaway Island to Ossabaw Island’s North End; five catered farm-to-table meals; two nights accommodation in the Club House on Ossabaw Island, plus transportation on the island.  Accommodations are in shared, dormitory-style rooms with shared bathrooms.

This trip is designed for adults and for children age 12 and over.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult.

Space is limited.  Your payment secures your reservation.

Please provide your best email address.  One week before the trip, participants will receive an email outlining the details of the trip, including driving directions, recommendations on what to bring, and more.
