January 3-5, 2018 Two-night Creative Trip:Camping

Price: $225
In Stock
Depart Wednesday Janury 3 at  4:00pm from Delegal Creek Marina on Skidaway Island, just outside of Savannah. After a 30-minute boat ride across Ossabaw Sound, arrive on Ossabaw Island in time for late afternoon inspiration found on the North End, followed by supper and an evening program that includes an island overview.  First thing Thursday morning we will travel to the south end bone yard beach, for coastal ecology and beach time.  We will return to the North End for an Ossabaw BBQ dinner.  Enjoy a second evening on the island.  We will depart the island at 11:00 am on Friday, to return to the mainland.

During your time on Ossabaw Island, you may have the opportunity to:

•Bring your own materials to paint, sketch, write, compose music or shoot photos on Ossabaw Island.   An Ossabaw Island visit includes excellent art-making inspiration: lush maritime forests and marsh wetlands, 19th- and 20th-century historic buildings, and possible sightings of a variety of wildlife including wading birds and feral hogs, as well as free-roaming domesticated donkeys, and perhaps an alligator. Take short hikes on forest and marsh-side trails.

There may also be the chance to:

Catch sunset and sunrise at the dock.

Overnight Trip fees include round trip transportation from Delegal Marina on Skidaway Island to Ossabaw Island’s North End; five catered farm to table meals;

Bring your own tent and camping needs.  You will be able to use the facilities in the Club House on Ossabaw Island.

This trip is designed for adults and for children age 12 and over.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult.

FEES:

Fees: $225. Includes camping accommodations, transportation, meals, and island transportation.

Space is limited.  Your payment secures your reservation.
